The 126th Psalm
| 1. When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. | 1. Pinch me. Did I doze? Tell the truth. Are we overtaking the enemy at war? Faith won! |
| 2. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them. | 2. The Holy God that made us, sensing all the hurt, hath gone forth in this war. Ah, when getting our freedom, we had to grin in delight, then to hum a tune. |
| 3. The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad. | 3. God hath renewed our ghost; we feel rather grand - halo fits! |
| 4. Turn again our captivity, O LORD, as the streams in the south. | 4. Let us not have thirst; may our cups retain rain that is good. |
| 5. They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. | 5. Weary or shy? He jettisons all that pain. |
| 6. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. | 6. He who is sowing in tears just might well be God's happiest heir; he gathers a big, choice harvest of abundance - inherit the gold mine! |
