The 13th Psalm
| 1. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me? | 1. Who'll now offer to remind God to give me much thought? Lo, I follow hereafter, worthy. |
| 2. How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me? | 2. Wish a halo? I'll seek to be a holy man, and go even in His sure way til, waxing uncommonly strong, my Lord here, He'll love me. |
| 3. Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: lighten mine eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death; | 3. Open thee my mind to dangers; do help me see, else I die facing Hell's loath destroyer; |
| 4. Lest mine enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved. | 4. Else that vile, mean persecutor brag to me: "Hey, I'm jovial"; and when I'm dismayed, teaseth: "O, I'm in heaven!" |
| 5. But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. | 5. A victory over hell in truth and by His justice? Ah my! that is elementary! |
| 6. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me. | 6. Built on the full truth God outlines, can I be well ahead with Him? Yes! |
